Day 1#School induction

Date: 16th February 2022

Day: Wednesday

Today was the first day of our school induction program. We eight students from our college were allotted to Mary Nilayam as part of school induction. We reached the school premises by 08:45 am. The school principal welcomed us and we were seated in the school library. After the prayer, the principal ma'am explained the instructions to be followed by us during our induction days. Later two by two student teachers were allotted to each class as part of observation. I was allotted to the first standard class. On seeing the tiny kids my joy knew no bounds. After the self-introduction, we were seated on the classroom bench. Kids were looking at us with wonder, later we acquainted with them. The teacher was continuing with her Hindi lesson 'Varnamala'. We understood the way the teacher teaches and the way she controls the students. After teaching for fifteen minutes a small break was provided for them. I think it's a difficult task for the teachers to manage the students, especially in the primary section.

The next class was maths, we remained in the same class for observation. The teacher entered the class students wished a warm "good morning" to the teacher. Everything we're done meticulously from small things, especially the way the students behave in the class, how the students take permission from the teacher to sharpen their pencils and to drink water, etc. The manners of the students taught in that school are far beyond expectation. Because these good manners thought at the very young age can mold them into an eminent personality in their future. The teacher taught about different shapes in mathematics, like triangle, square, circle, etc, and asked them to draw different figures out of these shapes. Students draw a creative drawing that shows their creativity and their enthusiasm to learn the subject. This method of teaching made them understand the topic and apply their creative talent to it. This reminds me about my good old days at school, how we were kids at that time and how time flies so fast.

After the class, we went out to watch the school surroundings. We saw many facilities including the library, smart class, school auditorium, playground, science laboratories, and many classes. It was a nice experience for us. During the third hour, we observed second standard, it was a English class. Teacher was teaching her remaining lesson and students were asked to read the lesson. After that  we took many photos and left  the school at 12:30 pm. It was a splendid day with will always remain etched in my heart.
